::2007-01-24 Farewell Party for Thomas Hug

At NIPS at 18.00 

Thomas Hug has been the chairman of FPA and a boardmember several times during the 16 years he has worked for Swiss Media in Norway. Now he will join the Swiss UN Forces. All members and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are invited. Wine, Swiss bread and Spanish Tapas will be served.

True to tradition the FPA Christmas party will have ethnic food on the menu, inspired by this years peace prize winner Muhammed Yunus. Indina food is the closest we got to Bangladesh! All members and partners welcome!

Knut Kjær is the head of the Norwegian Petroleum Fund, also called Statens Pensjonsfond - Utland. It is one of the largest penison funds in the world.

Sverre Lodgaard is the director of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, NUPI. He is also an alternative boardmember of the Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize comittee.

:: 2005-10-04 Nobel Prize Announcement and Beer
The announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2005 will be on Friday, October 7 at 11:00 as usually  at the Nobel Peace Prize Institute in Oslo.

The same day FPA will take the traditional monthly beer. Meeting point is at 18:00 at  the "Barolo" near the International Press Center

Political scientist Jo Sagli will be at the NIPS on the election night at 20.00. He will translate the TV broadcast and answer to questions.

It will be Trine Skrei Grande who will represent Venstre tomorrow. She is the leader of Venstres parliamentary group (which only counts two representatives).
Much of the focus in the election results will be if venstre gets more than 4% of the votes. In that case they will be entitled to up to 5 extra representatives, which could swing the whole election.

:: 2005-09-06 Stoltenberg and Hagen at the NIPS! Foss is coming too! 
Norways International Press Center and FPA will arrange meetings with representative from the main Norwegian parties in the election (September 12th). The meetings will be held in English and will take place at NIPSHaakon VII gate 10. Below the reviesed program.

For practical reasons it would be fine if you could mail back to fpanorge@online.no and tell us if you are coming. We will order sandwiches + there will be coffee and tea. Please do that before 11.00 AM Wednesday.
 
Practical information about the election:
 
It is possible to vote until 20.00 PM on Monday 12th of September.
Immediately after that there will be exit polls in NRK and TV2.

If you want to cover the election by visiting some of the parties, it is enough with a press card.
Shortly after midnight the party leaders will gather in the Parliament (Stortinget). There will be a session where they are interviewed by both TV-channels.

NIPS will also be open on election night.
